Why KinkyBird?

I feel I must explain...Why KinkyBird Metals, or why KinkyBird? To best describe..I thought it would be fun to look up the origin of the word kinky, or kink. It is just a bend at the knees from the Icelandic, and from the Dutch just a twist in a rope. In the 1600's the English used the term for curly or twisted type hair. It eventually described the mental state and even Thomas Jefferson referred to folks as kinks. Leave it to mid-20th Century people to take it further. Sexually deviant, provocative, unconventional.... if that is what you want to describe me as, well maybe.

I was given the nickname Kinky Bird or KB this past year. Someone came into my life, brought out the best in me that was hidden behind years and helped me set up my shop and gain back my passion for my work. This person reminded me to do what I love first and then be the best at it. As to why I was KinkyBird I have to let you use your imagination on that one. But some of the definition rings true as far as my metal, beyond the norm, unconventional...so I named my work after the words, encouragement, positive force that brought me back. I was away form my metal for thirty years. I stepped right back in it because it is what I love. And now I am learning to be the best at it. Stay with me as I grow and develop. I am just starting.
